I'M BACK!!
Life's been really really really tough nowadays. And I still haven't found my Graphire 3. My life simply sucks this semester. Well, it's almost the end of the semester! And then I can go back to Indonesia during summer, and dig for my Graphire 3!
I watched FF VII Advent Children Complete. OMG, holy shit - the quality is so different from the original Advent Children! With lots of new actions and stories, it's definitely worth paying that much!
I don't have much time, so I'll keep this post pretty short. I don't really have time to tell the entire review about Advent Children Complete right now.
Sephiroth looks weird here, hell yeah.
Now it's Zidane's turn to look weird. I like how I draw Kuja. LOL.
A contest between Zidane and Cloud - who's the shortest. The answer is obvious. I got this sudden idea when I was playing FF Dissidia on the plane towards Narita before finally flying over to Chicago.
And again, I'm not in the mood to color stuffs. I didn't even bother to use more than 1 color. Sigh.
Okay, a comic strip this time. Yeah, I just watched FF VII AC Complete, so I have these scenes kinda fresh in my memory. I just think that Cloud's life can be sucky. He got so much problems. LOL. I'm planning to continue this comic strip, showcasing the differences between FF AC original and FF AC Complete.
I hope I have the time for that :S
Uh... I don't know why I kinda lost interest in coloring for quite some time. I've been drawing and sketching stuffs in my pocket book, but I never scanned them.
And my holiday was just spent goofing around.
So... yeah, this time, there's a terrible happening occurred. There are 2 possibilities:
1. I left my Graphire 3 at home (Indonesia)
2. I lost my Graphire 3 along the way
Hopefully the second possibility will not become a reality.
On the other hand, my mum finally found my missing Indonesian NJC T-shirt. I designed that T-shirt, and I went so much troubles to go as far as Tiong Baru (I think it was there?) to send them for printing, as well to get them after they're printed. The T-shirt was mixed up with my dad's.
Alright, I'll cut the crap and go to the main point. My days have been somehow boring, so sometimes I thought of strange things as I walked from class to class. For some reason, I thought of the scene in FF 7 where Cloud has to dress up as a girl. It was so funny that that particular scene kept floating on my head for a while. Since that time, I had been having sudden urges to draw that scene on paper, but time did not permit me to do so. And so... I finally managed to express that scene yesterday!
I stayed up till 3 a.m. just to draw this. I finished the coloring this evening, after I got so bored with doing homework.
So, here we go:
Just to add, in case someone doesn't understand the story... In order to save his childhood friend, Cloud had to infiltrate a brothel, and to reduce unneccessary fights, he had to dress up as a girl. But the funny thing about it is that since Cloud had spiky hair and since the game was made in 1997, even though he wore a wig, his hair still spiked upwards. LOL.

I was experimenting with colors again. At first I was too lazy to recolor this Nabari no Ou fanart but I decided to try. Haha. I didn't upload the first attempt here, but basically I tried to fill in the base colors without the shadings. I uploaded it at my Deviant Art and Facebook account, but I totally forgot to post it here :P
Anyways, I started at around 11 pm and finished it at about 2 in the morning. Yawn~ Well, I was actually waiting for my friend to be online coz it's been ages since the last time I chatted with her. The different time zone (US and Japan) makes it difficult for us to be online at the same time, so I thought if I stayed a little longer I'd be able to chat with her. But she's not online even now :(

Here's the story:
Yoite's cell phone vibrated as he received a call from Yukimi. He's so stupid that he doesn't know that his cell phone would vibrate. The vibration makes his whole body shakes, and as the result some of the plates on his other hand were thrown into the air.
Yoite: Whoa!
Miharu: What's wrong? Wait, stop shaking the plates, you'll drop them!
Yoite: The thing Yukimi gave vibrated. What was it called...?
Miharu: It's cell phone. Hurry up and answer it.
Yoite: How do I...
Miharu: Forget it, just work!
===========================
I'm quite happy with the end result. I didn't use any of my tablet mouse's features, and in fact I did them using a normal mouse! Now I'm convinced that it's really possible to color things nicely without a tablet mouse, even though it helps speeding up the painting :)
Still, it has no background yet :P
My imagination power is not powerful enough to create a background image. I feel like drawing a wooden table behind, and behind the table there is a wall with a menu pasted on the wall. The paper looks kinda old - it should have been white, but it's a little yellowish. There are some cracks on the wall but they're not really obvious. But I have no idea how to place them :(

These days have been really hectic to me. I volunteered to become the coordinator of one of my club's sport event publicity team, but now I have resigned from that position due to some undesirable things happened. Well, basically I went to become dictator-like when I lead the whole team, and I guess that's not the way things are done here. Well, I personally feel I'm not that bad - I always give them chances to extent deadlines and make sure they agree with the deadlines. Sigh. Oh well. At least I know I tried my best to make things work. Really. Seriously.
Fanarts come first. Here we go:
Rokujo Miharu from Nabari no Ou! I'm kinda outdated - I just started watching it when the series have ended quite a long time ago. I always thought Nabari no Ou was a story about chess LOL!
I guess I kinda improved on the way I color the coat, but I still can't color skin and face well :(
Ok, the next one's gonna be really really really ugly.
Aya from Infinite Discovery. I don't think anyone's gonna realize that she is that person. I drew it in a manner that she has a really, really weird face :( The coloring sucks too. I wanted to try sephia style again, but... I guess it didn't really work this time.
I like the way I sketched the dress, though. Sigh.
Well, next up is something I made totally digital.
Well, I wanted to make this my new blog layout background but I changed my mind. It's too creepy, and I don't like it. :(
It says "un autie monde", which means "another world in French (kudos to worldlingo online translator!)
Creepy. Eew...
And finally... I don't really like to put the next works here coz they remind me of mental pain and suffering, but I'll just do it so I remember that I did these things:
Yeah. It's something that I've been working for a couple of months. Sigh. It was really mind-straining. It's like I don't mind staying up late to design stuffs (I did that when I was in CPU anyway), but... yeah, it's tiring.
A leader has to have the same direction as the members, or the members have to have the same direction as the leader. Otherwise things won't go well. Haha.
It was a sad yet meaningful experience. At least I'm kinda convinced not to repeat the same mistake in future.

This is like.. my first attempt with water color ever in my life. I probably had done it when I was in kindergarten, but... yeah, that was ages ago and I probably didn't understand what's going on. We'll go chronologically from left to right.
The first one was my experiment on color blending. Meh... I guess I didn't really do it well. My second one was done on yellow paper because I was kinda "inspired" by Julie's artwork. Yep. I wanted to do frames, but it will take me ages to do a nice frame with a media that I'm not familiar with.
By the way, I really didn't inted to make the chair bloody. It's partially my fault that I added a layer of orange without thinking, and next a guy sitting next to me bumped the table while I was painting the orange. So... ermm, here's the result.
Then, I'm tired of making super, ultra random stuffs, so I decided to draw a manga-style person (oh my God...). There's another accident on the left eye of the character I was drawing, so it kind of gave me the cover-the-face hairstyle. LOL.
I didn't know water color and oil pastel are so fun to play with!

They're still rough designs. Did it in pencil between and during class periods, especially when I'm quite bored with studying :)
Actually, I didn't really plan to make them as a family, but they kinda fit together. Here we go with character description:
Eldest daughter: Regina
Expert in disguising, she shows high confidence and is slighttly deceptive. Although on the outer appearance she is a confident person that doesn't care about many things, she feels pressure as being the eldest in the family.
Eldest daughter (2nd child): Lane
Expert in planning (journeys, actions, etc) and analyzing situations. He is quite a playful person who likes to tease other people. He has a cunning personality which other people (except his family) often do not realize. The biggest talent he has is winning gambles.
Youngest daughter (youngest child): Lana
Compared to her siblings, she seems to be an ordinary person, but her true ability is actually her all-rounded skills. In doing their jobs, Lana is the one who execute the main plan Lane has arranged. She is not a good liar, and she trusts people easily.
I'm making a story again. Hur hur. I don't know if I'm gonna make an attempt for comic-novel again. The last time I did it (ZTI), it ended after 4 pages lol. No progress after that.

So, I wasn't really dormant about my drawings. I do draw, but I didn't update them here. It's rather troublesome, because I have to separately upload the pictures and then post them in the blog. Well, I could have just uploaded the photos while posting, but that would make the photo albums messy. Hur hur...
Well, things have been going fine. I guess I like my life so much when I'm not in engineering campus. You know... I think if I were to end up in engineering, I will end up seeing kiasu people scattered around the place, with people asking "Hey, what's your grade?" and saying things like "I'm gonna beat the top scorer and beat [XXX]". Ahh... what a pain. Life is yours to make. Competition and self-comparison are good in the sense that they help you motivate yourself, but I don't see a point where you need to study just because you need to beat someone else.
I take learning as a process in life, and as something that is fun. Learning for me now is to pursue what I love, and getting an A is just a small part of it although it's undeniably true that companies look at your position and performance in your studies.
But hey... why are people studying things that they don't like, just because 'reliable people' say that you have 'talent' in it, or just because everyone's doing it? Perhaps people just haven't thought of this well. Especially Asians, I notice.
We're so crazy about achieving something, and that makes us forget who we are. Haha. That's sad.
And please, to those people who disregard my pursue of interest. I'm not from engineering and I'm not from business major. Indeed my salary later will be lower than theirs, but I just wish they could mind their own business and stop looking down on my major.
Alright, bashing time is over and it's drawing time!
Yunaa!!! One of my favorite characters in FF series. I did the outlines in pencil when I was waiting in between psychology class and food science lecture, so I think there are lots of details lost (that includes body proportion, I guess... LOL). The sad fact is that I'm too lazy to modify the outline again, so... Oh well. I tried coloring it with warm colors after trying to color Garnet with cool colors (in specific, blue).
Well... I quite like this one on Garnet. The hair doesn't really look like 'her' hair, though.... But yeah, I did it in blue~
Okay, so we go to a stupid series of rubbish fanarts: Shinra Monthly Magazine. LOL. I just finished playing FFVII Crisis Core at that time, so suddenly a bunch of ideas just pops out in my mind.
Aww come on... he's the main character of FF VII, so he has to appear the first :P
Sephiroth is burning in jealousy over someone who kept getting nauseatic when reading any vehicles (shortly, motion sickness). Well, it's a bad one. I didn't do proper shading for Cloud, and I couldn't remember why. The hair isn't even shaded. Gahhh :'(
I got some funny facts about Sephie in the game. They say he uses a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner each day. Well, that makes a perfect sense. Sephie has a damn, long, shiny silver hair which doesn't burn in fire o__O
Fantasy, oh fantasy... how great thou art.
Anyways, I think it's pretty noticable that the small characters in the background signifies the next person I'm gonna put their face on the stage.
Zack changed his hairstyle after Angeal's death, so I figure that he needs a hair wax to do that? Hmm hmm.... :P
The background is Genesis and his stupid repetition of Loveless quotes.
Dumb apple. Banora apple. He's like crazy over it. In the game they also say that Genesis was the forefather to making Banora apple products, including the apple juice. Maybe if he's a real thing, he can work in BERRI to make some purple apple juice. LOL.
Aerith and Deodorants!! Hahahaha!! Many people in deviantart suggested perfume, but I guess armpit deodorant suits her more. She's wearing a tank top in Crisis Core, so... deodorant is a MUST! XD
Alright, after a month or two passed, I haven't come up with Tseng's. Basically, I don't have that much time and I don't know what kind of product can suit Tseng and make people laugh.
I enjoy it when people in DA laughs at how ridiculous my ideas are... :) My drawing skills aren't that great, but I just enjoy it. And I'm planning to improve my skills.
Oh yeah I almost forgot about my idea of making a monthly calendar to be pasted on the wall. It failed to be executed though, because by early August, I only managed to draw the three of these:
What a waste... :(
Last thing to put: Mog and his cute, red nose and pompom! Hahahaha! I took the mog design from KH, coz they're the most simple-looking moogles. I can't draw so much details from the mogs in FF XII. Meh.

Long time no see! I haven't been uploading things here... :P My Internet bandwidth limit exceeded last month, and the month before. So, yeah, I'm back!
I think I mentioned that I bought a red PSP...? Or maybe not. I mentioned it in my other journal.
So, I was inspired to draw another fanart after playing the game FF VII Crisis Core on PSP.
There was a mail from Silver Elite (Sephiroth's fans), saying that Seph, Angeal and Genesis used to play around in the Lv.49's Training Room. One person got to stand with dumb apples (the apples are not stupid - they're just called "dumb apples" in the game) on his head, while the other two threw their weapons to hit the apple.
So, on the journey to Nibelheim. Our dear Cloud, with his motion sickness. I thought of making a story of him vomitting all the way throughout the journey to Nibelheim, making Seph and Zack lost their temper. So, upon arrival at Nibelheim, Seph taught Zack how the old game and....
Voila!
According to the game, Sephiroth had always successfully thrown his Masamune (the absurdly long sword of his) right into the center of the apple. Meanwhile, Zack... he failed at his first attempt! :P The Buster Sword he got from Angeal almost hit Cloud, the poor rookie Soldier (at that time).

I couldn't take my eyes off the penguins until my bored bro (he definitely doesn't like enjoying nature like me) dragged me out of the penguin section.

I should have done some reference before I start painting imaginary person. Garrhh. But it was too late, and I don't have anyone that I want to draw. I mean, I don't follow fashion magazines and stuffs, so I don't have a slightest clue on whose name to search on.

I don't know what happened today (I woke up at 9), but I discovered that they're talking to my sick uncle who's currently hospitalized at Mt Elizabeth. My family paid for the entire trip, with the help of some of my other uncles and aunts from my mum's side.
Anyhow, the trip really sucked my blood. Lots of annoying and blood-rushing things happened. Here's not the place to talk. Those who know me well enough, I think you know where I ranted all my anger and frustration at.
The Internet connection was down right before my departure to Singapore, so I'll use the chance to post them now.

So why the name Nyou? Because I imagined it so give out a "Nyouuu..."-like sound when it speaks. It doesn't bark - it goes "nyouuuu..."

I'm not practically jobless and have nothing to do. I just strained my eyes today for PHP scripting, and continued doing my self-preparatory note for learning Japanese (my teacher decided to skip going through 2 chapters, so I have to self-read and self-learn those chapters).
And tomorrow I have to wake up early for another 4-hour PHP course (in which I'll be a little dissatisfied with the instructor for her 'unpleasant' behaviour). It's not that she's not nice, but... I feel like she neglects her job at most moments where she chatted with her friends using Yahoo! Messenger instead of looking through my scripts. Since T and V said that I shouldn't jump into imagination before knowing the basics of the basics, I've decided to go back towards realism artwork. I mean, there is still so much things that I don't know about the real colouring. Afterall, the concept of anime/manga style drawing is derived from realism.
Hence, I tried sketching my own photo (out of anyone's photo, I chose mine).
Not a good one, obviously. Still far from perfection. But no matter what, I'll do my best to improve my drawings. I don't want to draw blindly anymore.

Alright, this was my first entry. SUCKS, I tell you. I just find the idea funny. My drawing skil isn't that great, and I don't really know how to piece things together. So, yeah, I don't consider this as part of the contest. It's mainly my crazy idea that flow out of my mind.
And this was my 2nd entry. I placed my highest hope on this one, since this is perhaps the craziest (and the most unwanted) idea that ever came out in my mind. I didn't even imagine it to be like this.
Alright, drawing skill wise, I think it's slightly better than the first one. But when I posted this at everLucid, my most favourite forum so far, I got instantly crushed. But yeah, I like being constructively criticized. It's better to know my mistake early than to have believed it to be correct, and continue doing the same wrong things over and over again.
Besides, the people there are the only ones I can get constructive comments from. Don't expect anything from DA, man.
Draw a fanart, and they'll praise you. Praises are good to increase confidence, but excessive unneccessary praises will slowly destroy any possible amateur artists. That's why I hate DA pretty much. I can never improve.
As my chem teacher used to say: Practice doesn't make perfect - it makes permanent.
So, to further improve my drawings, especially on the figure proportions, I decided to draw an figure skeleton that I used to learn years ago, when I was in Sec1. It's not even my art notes - they're my Sec2 friends' notes.

Didn't have much time to draw, because it was an eleventh-hour idea.
Something's wrong with my DA account, and I can't seem to upload my pictures. Either it's the problematic DA, or the problematic firewall of mine.
I've been busy with my programming class and my Japanese lessons, so I didn't really have time to draw. This is the only drawings done in marker left in my possession, so here we go with this one!

I suddenly thought of a great idea of making birthday card prints on my own... It's gonna be expensive, but at least if I had forgotten to buy presents, the card is something that can make up to it, right? LOL...
Just kidding.
Anyways, some misspelling of name. My cousin's name is Metta, with double 't'. I wrote it only with one 't'. Gomen!
Lacking details on clothes, since I drew them without referring to the actual picture and this is my first time drawing Zidane. And gosh, I forgot the pompom on Moogle's head!
Zidane and the bananas. LOL. I don't really like Zidane, particularly because he has a monkey tail. For a main hero, he's pretty uncool. I don't know if he's actually cool if he speaks in Japanese tone. I mean, during the Japanese-English translation process, some parts must have been changed/removed/altered that some aspects of the character is lost. He might be afterall a cool person. Who knows. When I played FF IX in English, I just thought he's just some stupid joker.
Translating Gakuen Alice ch 61 right now. I just finished translating ch59. Phew. My job's changed from being an editor to a translator, which in this case, good. The scans quality have greatly deteriorated, which will make an editor's job to be much more annoying and tougher.
I don't know what will happen once we've touched ch70. I heard that PED's done ch 70, so I don't know if we'll redo the chapter or what. Geh.
So much troubles for scanlations team.

As the title suggests, this piece is a memorable piece where there are the most number of characters available on the paper. I used to draw at most 3 people on a piece of paper. It's really really really tiring, because at first I didn't know where to place the characters!
I'll admit some of the imperfections in this piece:
1. No shadings and light reflections. Yet.
2. Uniform colour. Supposed to be black, but I feel that pure black is too dull. Hence, I used the blue-black.
3. Didn't use ruler to draw the chair. As the result, if you really look into the details, the chair isn't upright.
In the end, I didn't have the space to put a character: Kitsuneme-kun. Sorry >.<
And this commemorates the last GA fanarts for now. I'm tired of doing fanarts. Perhaps I'll move on to my original characters ^__^

As I was saying... my 'fever' for Gakuen Alice is back. I was browsing and browsing (I was practically digging for new mangascans) through forums and stuffs. I even had to post 15 posts in order to unlock the threads containing download links. So, I end up looking at an RPG Forum. Basically, you choose a character and act it out in a story made in that forum. Of course, you have to first know your character. Or maybe it's only me who gets too serious.
Ok, call me stupid or whatever. I'm bored making KH fanarts, and I don't think I can draw shoujo manga fanarts. I realize that now I can't draw eyes that are too big in comparison to the face size. I tried drawing Mikan (her eye size is about 1/3rd of the face), and it failed. Totally failed.
So, before I began drawing (or rather, registering for the forum) I had to fill in these things. Actually, it really helped me create the whole person (I deleted some; it will be too long if I write all of them here).
It's my first attempt of making a deep charachter. It's actually pretty fun to imagine what kind of words this person would say under certain circumstances. Like the tone, the voice, the facial expressions, body expressions and stuffs. How she would kick a trash can or throw something at someone, how she console the others when she was asked for advice, why she likes trees and dislikes people who backstab the others, why she fears a pool of water, etc etc..
Name: Kisaragi Kou
Nickname: Kou-chan
Age: 11
Nationality: Japanese
Appearance
Height: 137cm
Weight: 34 kg
Personality
Likes: trees, birds, sports other than swimming, reading books
Dislikes: people who likes to backstab the others
Fears: a pool of water
Mannerism: gentle, generally speaks with a slight boyish manner
Actions when angered: speaks in rude words and emits a really scary aura, sometimes with muderous intent
Alice: Spirit Energy User
How does it work: she uses spirit energy around her to change the energy into another form. For example, she can produce heat or push an object without touching it. She can also use the power to heal, although it is of limited use.
Drawbacks: she cannot use the power on herself. The more spirit energy she uses, the weaker she will become, which means the shorter her life would be. Excessive usage in a day will cause her to faint for a certain period.
Yeah, the forum admin actually said "the stronger the alice, the worse the drawbacks should be".
